Mark Verstegen
Founder and President
One of the world’s foremost experts on human performance, Mark Verstegen pioneered the concept of integrated performance training, which he’s brought to the world’s top athletes, corporations, and the U.S. military. As founder and president of EXOS, he has served as the NFLPA’s performance director for 18 years and is the author of six books.
Dan Burns
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of EXOS since 2009, Dan Burns spearheads the company’s management and strategic planning. Burns has guided EXOS through a period of meteoric growth, developing key relationships and overseeing the global operations of the EXOS platform, which extends to six continents. A graduate of Amherst College, he earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jeff Sassone
Chief Performance Officer
As chief performance officer, Jeff Sassone oversees the company’s performance team to define and evolve its methodology, enabling practitioners to produce outcomes for clients. He has coached athletes for nearly 20 years, working closely with Mark Verstegen. Sassone has a master’s from the University of Illinois and a bachelor’s from the University of South Florida.
Jeff Terrill
Chief Growth Officer
As chief growth officer, Jeff Terrill leads the company’s global growth strategy to expand reach through markets, channels, and distribution partners, establishing market share leadership and brand recognition. Prior to EXOS, Terrill served as president of Cigna’s emerging markets segment. He holds a bachelor of science and business degree from the University of Colorado.
Bill Bourque
Chief Operations Officer
As chief operations officer of EXOS, Bill Bourque leads the operations team to develop, implement, and deliver services, resulting in meaningful outcomes and high levels of engagement and satisfaction. Previously, he was president and COO of MediFit. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts and earned his MBA from Northeastern University.
Jon Zerden
Chief Technology Officer
As CTO of EXOS, Jon Zerden oversees technology supporting everything from online content, training programs, and proprietary equipment to facility infrastructure, integrated systems, mobile apps, and wearable devices. Previously, he was vice president of global media at World Wrestling Entertainment. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from George Washington University.
John Golden
Chief Solutions Officer
As chief solutions officer, John Golden oversees EXOS’ rise as the industry leader of products, experiences, and partnerships. John’s journey at EXOS began as a client after a revolutionary medical transplant. His experience at EXOS enabled him to walk again and scale Everest, and motivated him to pioneer game-changing solutions to upgrade clients lives at EXOS.
Todd Smith
Chief Marketing Officer
As CMO of EXOS since 2013, Todd Smith leads the brand vision, storytelling, design, and integrated marketing initiatives. Previously, Smith worked for The Coca-Cola Company where he served as group brand director for vitaminwater and led a brand relaunch for POWERADE. He has a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.
Trevor Vigfusson
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO of EXOS, Trevor Vigfusson leads the finance and accounting teams to help create, drive, and support profitable, brand accretive growth. Previously, he served in various leadership roles at Nike, and brings experience with other high-growth companies such as Gap and American Eagle Outfitters. Trevor holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.
Brandon Parise
Chief People Officer
As CPO of EXOS since 2016, Brandon Parise introduces human resources strategies and processes that drive better business results, create a premier workplace, and promote our culture. Previously, Parise served in senior leadership roles at Campus Crest, Hostess Brands, and PepsiCo. A graduate of Allegheny College, he earned his master’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
