PHOENIX, August 25, 2017 — Today, EXOS, a leader in human performance, announced their acquisition of D1 Sports Medicine, a company that partners with top sports medicine orthopedists to offer athletes physical therapy services and ensure they have a safe and optimal return after injury.

The new EXOS Physical Therapy locations will help accelerate EXOS’ health care strategy of partnering with hospitals and health systems to serve local populations with proactive health, physical therapy, and performance solutions.

“Since our start in 1999, physical therapy has been an integral part of our system,” said Mark Verstegen, president and founder of EXOS. “With the acquisition of D1 Sports Medicine, we’ll be able to further the EXOS physical therapy model, which upgrades traditional physical therapy services by delivering integrated performance therapy solutions.”

EXOS’ physical therapy services have been tested and delivered to countless elite athletes, military personnel, and corporate employees, and bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation and performance training by using a holistic and personalized approach to each injury.

“Through this acquisition, EXOS is able to expand its reach and serve as a valuable resource for proactive health and performance in the community,” said Dan Burns, CEO of EXOS. “We look forward to building relationships with new health systems and bringing EXOS’ methodology and solutions to as many people as possible.”

With the addition of the new EXOS Physical Therapy facilities, EXOS will now have over 70 locations partnering with health care systems to serve local communities nationwide. These facilities will provide physical therapy and additional proactive health and performance solutions through sport and team servicing agreements, group training, youth sports, and technologies. These solutions offer additional revenue opportunities and the latest in assessment and personalized recommendations to achieve sustainable health outcomes.

“We’re confident that EXOS will be a great fit for our clients, employees, and partners in the future as they build on our services and relationships,” said Greg Perry, president of D1 Sports Medicine. “We look forward to joining the EXOS team in their mission to upgrade lives.”
